Tom Steyer has been trying to get in a political position for the past 20ish years with all his billions of dollars I don't know why suddenly "there's no ethical billionaire" turned into "well I like this one because he talks nice to me"

Ik the dining room scene is really divisive but that scene was so important Mary couldn't have just wandered around in the backrooms for the rest of the movie until she got chased it was a valuable moment for character work
@alienfreak0l0gy Yeah, but then they would've played their hand too soon and ruined the reveal of Clark being alive
Maybe a scene where async sees the drawing slowly get created but they never see who's doing it, only that connect to a dying furniture store or smth like that I'm no movie maker
End of thread I really like this movie 8/10 the therapy scene did drag a bit too much and the cinematography in those shots was really awkward, I wish async was slightly more relevant, I wish kat and Bobby visited one more time before dying, I wish Mary's mom showed up more
I just don't think people know how to handle a movie that's supposed to be slow anymore and is actually of substance
People want something fun to look at but don't want to think, which is fine, but when a movie forces you to slow down and think is when you lose the avg viewer
@fardgamer69421 Yeah like exactly my point it's yummy it brings you pleasure and some would say that's morally permissible despite the necessity of death (if you even regard the animal's life equal to yours)
I think the argument that "eating meat is immoral" is never going to lead to effective dialogue because morals ≠ ethics and everyone can't follow the same moral framework because human beings don't work like that
