The Town of Lake Park is Celebrating it’s Centennial, and tonight is swearing in their first Black Mayor and Black Commissioner in a packed chambers. This is a wonderful night for the Town of Lake Park, the Palm Beach County League of Cities and the state of Florida!

The Palm Beach County League of Cities Board of Directors met in the Cultural Center in Royal Palm Beach and agreed to the 60 Day Rental Notification Ordinance the County will pass Countywide, install Mayor Joel Florez on the Board, among other City Business.

The Board of County Commissioners is meeting and gave Clarence E. Anthony former Mayor of South Bay and CEO for the National League of Cities the first every “Key to the County” for building the Library that bears his name 30 years ago in South Bay when he was Mayor.

The Palm Beach County League of Cities is having their General Membership Meeting hosted by the City of Boynton Beach at Benvenuto’s where the Read for the Record Awards were won by Lake Park, Palm Springs and Wellington and FL League of Cities E.D Jeanie Garner updated the group

The Palm Beach County League of Cities Board of Directors is meeting at Benvenuto’s in Boynton Beach and are getting presentations on amendments to the Palm Beach Co Emergency Medical Services Ordinance and the Florida Health Dept. Fee Change Ordinance among other city business.

The Palm Beach Co Board of County Commissioners are meeting on the 6th Floor of the Governmental Ctr and have reorganized making the Mayor Robert Weinroth and Vice Mayor Gregg Weiss. They also reorganized the Solid Waste Authority making the Chair Gregg Weiss and Vice Chair Sachs

The Palm Beach County League of Cities is having a Joint Workshop with Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation at Palm Beach Gardens City Hall and are discussing the League’s Legislative Priorities for the 2022 Legislative Session.

The Palm Beach County League of Cities is having the state’s mandatory Ethics Training hosted by the Village of Palm Springs at Village Hall where 5 local attorneys are covering all the bases with four interactive one hour sessions.

Clarence Anthony, the Executive Director for the National League of Cities is addressing the Palm Bch County League of Cities General Membership Luncheon at Sandhill Crane Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens and explaining the spending of CARES and ARPA dollars to be in compliance

The Palm Beach Co League of Cities Board of Directors are meeting in the Palm Bch Gardens Training Center and are getting a presentation from Archie Satchell the director of Info. Systems Services for Palm Beach County about the Digital Divide, and partnerships to close the gap.

The Palm Beach Co Criminal Justice Commission is meeting in the McEaddy Conference Rm of the Governmental Ctr. and are getting updates on Comm. Engagement, Corrections, Court System, Law Enforcement Planning Council/School Safety, Race and Equity, and The Safety Justice Challenge

The Palm Beach City County Management Assoc, represented by local City Managers, gave a plaque to the City of Delray Beach celebrating them and honoring them for their 95 years of continuous support for the Council/Manager form of government which utilizes a professional Manager.

The Palm Beach Co Board of County Commissioners are meeting in the Governmental Center and are honoring retiring County Attorney Denise M Nieman for her years of service with the naming of a Beach Pavilion to a packed room of her admirers.

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners are acting as the Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors and are meeting at their Jog Road facility and are hearing how their land fills conform to all environmental standards, and monitor birds to access all impacts to them.

At the Lantana Town Hall meeting last night Town Mayor Robert Haggerty gave a Proclamation to Palm Beach County League of Cities’ Executive Director Richard Radcliffe recognizing October 18-24, 2021, as Florida City Government Week thereby showing their support and participation.
