Daily reminder: "if you knew how quickly men would forget you, you would cease to seek their approval."

Has anyone seen the body of a righteous man abandoned by his soul? There is no stench from him; there is no fear of approaching him. At his burial, his sadness is dissolved by some kind of incomprehensible joy. The facial features, frozen as they were at the moment of the soul's departure, sometimes rest in the deepest peace, and sometimes shine with the joy of sweet encounters and kisses—of course, with Angels and with the saints who are sent from heaven for the souls of the righteous.
~St. Ignatius (Bryanchaninov)

I out the Space trilogy in with LoTR 100%.
CS Lewis hit Foundation, 1984, Animal Farm, Childhoods End, Brave New World.
Amazing gift for any youngsters caught up in scientific materialism.
Thinking back to my discussion with Gavin, the only thing I regret is what I said about CS Lewis. What I should have said is that if I try to represent the official positions of the Church, I cannot say what his fate is. But if you ask me, Jonathan Pageau, to speak with the little insight I might have, I say YES, if anyone is saved, CS Lewis is one of them.
@BretWeinstein Thanks for your hard work!
Complex systems, evolutionary toolkit, adaptive lenses, trade-offs, mouse telomeres, ultra-marathons cure cancer? What did I miss?

How Ultra-running cured cancer: https://t.co/LvwXPKjFKn
Welcome to complex systems.
Masochists out in the woods running for DAYS on end might have helped to unveil some mechanisms which point to a paradoxical stress load healing super-power everyone is born with!
Hypothesis: Running ultramarathons is a NEAR PERFECT way to treat and prevent cancer.
Looking for mouse telomere work from @BretWeinstein
Apparently I am getting a machine level of proficiency at solving CAPTCHA puzzles. So much so that apparently I no longer pass as a human
Momento Mori - if you die before you die, then when you die you will not die.
Insofar as your goals are not aligned with Christ, you aren't actually real or alive.
When God says: "I AM" - it is an injunction that turning away from Him is death.
I spoke with my brother and shared a hopefulness about when the EXPERIENCE of being Orthodox would FEEL more natural.
He wisely shared with me similar words.
Do not pursue experiences. Pursue your salvation.
@PageauJonathan has said similar things. Esepecially with AI.
@PageauJonathan@FrLillie If we are to talk past eachother then may it be blessed.
His will be done and as He knows have mercy.
Luke 13 Matthew 19 come to mind.
"Spiritual life begins when things seem absolutely 'hopeless' - that is when one learns to turn to God and not to our own feeble efforts and ideas."
