@mattBernius@ijbailey Party leader controls the dscc which is responsible for identifying and vetting candidates, same in the house, but to often its does so and so work in DC not can we sell them to the ppl this cycle, not 4 yrs ago not 8 yrs ago but right now and they tend to be too out of touch
@mattBernius@ijbailey Im totally for going back to letting the party pick the candidates. We got some pretty good candidates that way. FDR is never elected to NY St leg much less the WH if he had to run in a modern primary, same w/jfk lbj teddy roosevelt etc
@ijbailey@mattBernius Mills was handpicked by the dnc and Schumer so they kept any other normie out of the race which left an opening for a platner. Turns out the ppl of maine dem party didnt want a elderly moderate woman to challenge the elderly moderate woman incumbent so that leaves platner
@preselectlee@daveweigel The primary is Tuesday. There is no viable way to get on the ballot and very hard to run a write in campaign days before the primary
@CharioCX@BartonRMShaw@StatisticUrban@EricMGarcia Hemingway's (seafood), lose Andes (purovian), providence oyster Bar (a mix of a bunch of stuff ironically), al forno, any Italian place on federal hill.
@x_nvrgrn@sam_golf Some of it could also be he isnt contending for anything so he doesnt have to hold back to keep a competitive fire. He can relax and just speak freely. Remember he was still in contention for the masters at 58 back in 98
