@girllich1@AzizSunderji@hamiltonnolan It's funny that consumer surplus is used as a counterargument for wealth inequality. Consumer surplus collapses when another party is willing to sell for less (which is my point above). What the businesses do is try to avoid competitive entry to protect excess profit.
@girllich1@AzizSunderji@hamiltonnolan This suggests these products are uniquely valuable and not a product of regulatory arbitrage/capture and network effects leading to a monopolistic result. If there was a reverse auction to provide these goods, you'd get the same goods with substantially less wealth concentration
@Spencer_Gray I hear you, but I didn’t like that this party was a business partner not competitor. Feels like a real shitty way to treat your business partners. Maybe better way would have been to incentivize sharing growing knowledge.
@AlexiLalas How did it used to be paid for Alexi? The main problem is the monopolization of soccer opportunity by the pay for play system. It draws kids from other leagues and kids who can't pay get left behind with nowhere to play (despite their interest).
@LFC_NewsTalk@smyyguy It should be an advantage! If you are onside and running and the player is standing still you have an advantage! The whole idea is getting an advantageous position. It should be feet. The idea is defender has an equal opportunity to make up the ground (like a race).
@spinningjoe Ah that’s a load of crap; me slowly stomping someone’s foot and tapping it looks totally different at different speeds. Look at a fake movie slow mo punch. Face still whips around like crazy. It does distort perception.
@artmarkham@Strangeland_Elf How do you distinguish that? What if his foot landed on Balogun’s? He wasn’t moving away; it’s body position. It just looks like that because his hip is out. He was crashing to cut off his path to the ball! This is all based off post-crash bodies limbs flying. This is so soft.
@WavesLFC It’s that’s a red, it’s an incredibly dumb standard. And plenty of folks in the elite echelons of soccer questioned it. Maybe take your smug attitude down a notch.
@GeecheeKid People are blowing a hole through the language “endangers safety of an opponent”. You could drive a truck through that language. It’s stupid. More instructive is used excessive force or brutality. Both of which imply intent. The “or” sucks. Bad drafting.
@Gryffix Orrr its part of the game and everybody takes some risk when they step on the field. Ha “lack coordination.” Maybe instead they are prime examples of body control who move so freaking fast that things like this will inevitably happen.
@DivingxDown Maybe watch it full speed. You can injure without it being a dangerous play. (And he wasn’t even freaking injured!) this was normal, mutual physicality where players got tangled up
@paritosh_bhide Yes. Not a red. How the hell are you supposed to play the game if you accidentally stepping on someone’s foot when both running at high speed gets you sent off.
