COP30 descended on impoverished Belem in a cloud of jet fumes. This enabled the world elite to avoid the filth and stench of life in Belem, the world's most neglected city, oozing stench from untreated sewage. This was a statement about a lack of concern about atmospheric CO2. Money, jet fuel and diesel engines 'should' have consequences for the atmosphere, CO2 levels or net zero. But it doesn't. This is the grift and hypocrisy of a campaign about reducing CO2, the foundation for all life on earth, but especially the precious rainforests of the Amazon rainforest. COP30 didn’t just talk about emissions—they brought them. In private jets. On diesel cruise liners. While preaching net zero waffle from air-conditioned cabins.
