A representative of the Office of the District Magistrate, Kushinagar, today handed over to CdA Dr @Surendrathapaji the piggy bank savings donated by six-year-old Alfaz Sheikh for the relief of communities affected by the recent floods in Nepal.

Moved by the devastation, young Alfaz chose to contribute his year-long savings in a touching gesture of compassion and solidarity.

The Embassy deeply appreciates this heartfelt act, which reflects the enduring bonds of friendship and goodwill between the peoples of Nepal and India.

Ambassador @gsbhandaari met with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Mr. Tamim Iqbal at the latter’s office today, as part of the Embassy's ongoing efforts to promote greater sports cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh.

During the meeting, BCB shared details of the upcoming three-match T20 International series between the two nations, to be held in Kathmandu on 26, 28 and 30 March 2027. The series will be dedicated to the memory of those who have lost their lives in the recent devastating flash floods in Nepal, reflecting the enduring spirit of friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

The Embassy extends its sincere thanks to the Ministries of Youth and Sports of both countries, Cricket Association of Nepal and the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their pivotal role in advancing this partnership.

This is yet another milestone in the growing cricket and sports cooperation, with both sides committed to deepening ties through exchange of men's and women's tours, High Performance programmes, and training and technical support in the years ahead.

The devastating flash floods in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers in Nepal on 26 August 2026 have caused tragic loss of lives and properties, leaving many people injured, missing, and severely affected.

In the wake of this disaster, the Embassy has been receiving an outpouring of messages of solidarity and offers of assistance from the Government and people of Bangladesh, friends and well-wishers of Nepal, and various institutions. We remain grateful for this.

In response to the increasing number of inquiries regarding ways to support the Flash Flood Victims, the Embassy has opened a dedicated bank account to facilitate voluntary financial contributions. The account details are provided below:

Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Pratik Karki joined the Minister for Disaster Management & Relief of Bangladesh H.E. Mr. Asadul Habib Dulu, MP in inaugurating an 'Eye Camp' organized jointly by Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh and Dr. Salima Diabetic and General Hospital in Lalmonirhat, this evening.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, Mr. Karki thanked the people and Government of Bangladesh for their support with regards to the recent flash floods in Nepal. He further stated that the eye camp which is expected to benefit around 3000 Bangladeshi nationals, would be instrumental in further strengthening this excellent people-to-people relationship between Nepal and Bangladesh.

A team from Sagarmatha Choudhary Eye Hospital, which includes ophthalmologists and senior eye health workers, is providing comprehensive eye checkups and cataract surgeries to patients in Lalmonirhat during the eye camp.

The devastating flash floods in Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers in Nepal on 26 August 2026, have caused the tragic loss of hundreds of lives with many people injured and missing, along with the destruction of properties including vital infrastructure of the country. The search and rescue operations are underway in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Chitwan to locate and rescue those still missing and to provide immediate assistance and support to those affected by the disaster.

Rt. Hon. President Ramchandra Paudel has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

In his message, the Rt. Hon. President wished the newly elected President success in his new responsibilities and reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to further strengthening the long-standing friendly ties between Nepal and Bangladesh, including the deep-rooted people-to-people connections that bind the two nations together.

@Sedhai007 No I cannot. My question was a curiosity, not a clash. Just wanted to know what resources can be accessed for autistic individuals. However the rise in autistic cases seems real as per what I see in therapy centres and schools.
