@GaryBenn Probably updated after people who don't understand what "we will update further if anything changes" means complained and showed their ignorance.
@GaryBenn@leedsbeckett "Well done for keeping the buildings and grounds open to all in the grounds maintenance and estates teams".... there, fixed it for you... When a statement says it will update IF there is a change, it generally means there won't be an update unless it changes.
@Mar1922624@MartinSLewis There hasn't been an increase in 8 years, due to inflation the previous cap meant the university sector was down over £2500 per student per year, this slight rise doesn't even touch the sides but will save thousands of jobs and help maintain learning and research standards.
@tomverypetty @MartinSLewis Over 40% of universities have a black hole of millions in their finances created by the last Tory government. Redundancies and inability to invest in their estates create poorer environments for learning and research, something this country used to export as a world leader.
@another07047584@RosieandRollo@Peston As such, The King needs to be kept updated on important issues, he has no actual power in that meeting, but can voice an opinion which is no more than an advisors.
Government is full of unelected advisors with more power than The King.
@another07047584@RosieandRollo@Peston Because that's the system we have, parliament rules by consent of The King, The King exists by the consent of Parliament, it provides the UK with a safety net of government should Parliament fail or become unable to govern whilst placing the power in the hands of the people.
@joannespike@another07047584@Peston The tories didn't win a majority, they certainly didn't win their last election on the manifesto they now follow, their policies were not voted for by the UK people, not one.
We don't vote for a specific person, we vote for parties whose policies and manifesto we support... so...
@WendyH150776379@another07047584@Peston An election by MPs was never held, he was unopposed by the withdrawal of all other candidates, leaving him the PM role by virtue of holding enough support to qualify as a candidate.
"Last man standing" in a gladiator ring is not a democratic process.
@another07047584@RosieandRollo@Peston As a result, it's perfectly within the remit of The King to question an action that could bring our nation international disrepute and possible sanction or action by the international community, whilst also setting standards for other countries treatment of our citizens abroad.
@another07047584@RosieandRollo@Peston I would agree, but what is being proposed by Sunak is not a direct result of a democratic process, a vote in Parliament where MPs are forced to back the government through the whip is not democratic, he wasn't elected, this wasn't on the manifesto.
@SeriousAboutRL No, absolutely not.
The difference in atmosphere, attendance, passion displayed by the supporters between Friday night games and Sunday afternoon games is there for all to see.
Keep Sundays as social home time for families to sit around a table, not stand barely talking pitchside
@richardfrodin@AmateurishRL Let's be clear and honest about it. It's not just a statement from a club trying to be responsible. It's a statement made following the disgraceful behaviour of their fans at Headingley, where they threw bottles at players.
@MaryBoustedNEU Tory MP's justifying their pay rise: "it's the recommendation of the independent pay review board"
Tory MPs when same recommendations from the same independant review boards apply to others: "we simply can't afford it".
@Ellaj26927542 @HelenRSalisbury And before you tout the line the government want you to believe of "record funding" it's now proven that said funding includes the billions siphoned off to MP mates in dodgy contracts that never saw an NHS accountants books.
In fact, they have had to do far more with much less.
@Ellaj26927542 @HelenRSalisbury The inefficiencies and waste you talk about are due to government policies, and the fact the NHS is forced to outsource most of its provision to private companies, inflating costs.
We are going through one of the longest periods of underfunding the NHS has ever had to deal with.
@Ferdinand641@IainAStewart2@Malcolm02792388@DouglasCarswell 5th largest economy in the world? No we aren't, we're 6th, and that position is nothing to do with the wealth of the nation.
It's an inflated figure because of the money transactions that pass through London banking, which never benefits UK people.
You're lack of context is nieve
I refuse to stop. I will not give up. This is a make or break moment for parliamentary democracy. I will not stand by whilst this Government strips back our right to protest and uses an unprecedented abuse of power to get away with it. If you’re with me RT this widely
@GBNEWS He thought he was talking to an unelected ceo eho is only interested in the profits of his shareholders..... oh, i see where he may have gotten confused
