@BPaigeHersh@EliseBetzBooks I am holding off until fall for my second round of querying. I understand that agents take the summer ‘off’. I am with you on MSWL details. My second novel features WWII, espionage, art, and tennis. With a female protagonist. Hit those agents looking for the same. No hits yet,
@whataimeereads_ Complicated. In my first book, published in UK, moving back and forth between NY, London, DC, etc., in dialogue I tried British for UK folks, and American for US folks. My editor (UK) disapproved. Went with UK. Still found it jarring to see a main US character saying: ‘colour’.
@readswithravi Four Letters of Love by Niall Williams. In all his work, every word carefully chosen, every emotion artfully presented. Stories that convey the deep complexities of otherwise seemingly simple lives in rural Ireland. Prose so rich as to rival poetry.
@mcmuhlenkamp Spent yesterday afternoon (rain here in the Northeast) identifying my second round of potential literary agents for novel number two in my trilogy. Not sure how long I will give the traditional path a chance to respond. I already print hard cover sample books for beta readers.
@AuthorGoodwin In a discussion among a group of writers Hemingway interjected that he could write a novel in 6 words. Challenged to prove it, he answered:
‘For sale: ‘Baby shoes - never worn.’
@TheRickWilson AI: Yes, lobsters have a prehistoric lineage, with evidence suggesting their ancestors existed over 480 million years ago. Or today…even.
