Some strikes I agree with but this has gone on far way too long now. It's tiring and Winslow residents are fed up. 45 minutes from Oxford to Milton Keynes Central is perfectly fine for DOO - some trains on longer routes have DOO! We've waited nearly a year for EWR routes.
New British-built accessible trains are welcome, but these trains won't be owned by GBR - they'll be leased from private profiteers.
All new rolling stock should be publicly owned. It's time to Own Our Trains. https://t.co/cWHK0M8rP4
🆕🚆🟣⦵ The first of ten Derby-built Class 345 Aventra trains has entered service on London’s Elizabeth line. The additional trains, funded by the Government, will help meet rising demand and support future services at HS2’s Old Oak Common station, improving passenger capacity.

@RMTunion I had a passenger pass out on my train, slumped behind the seats.. without me being the guard she wouldn’t have been noticed by cctv and could have died! I stopped the train, sorted medical assistance and an ambulance… but yeah.. train guards are not required
Ray Clark is LIVE on Caroline North at 3pm. The aft deck is looking a bit rusty. That will be one of our priorities in dry dock and we look forward to proudly re-painting our signage on the new deck

The end of an era - After almost a century we said goodbye this morning to our great companion of the airwaves Radio 4 198 LW. I shall miss her warmth and crackle. Here’s the final sign off at the end of #theshippingforecast before she fell silent… ❤️
Kenny Jacket had a long and accomplished career as player, manager and Director of Football.
He loved the game he served with pride.
At Brisbane Road Kenny recruited players who would go on to achieve success for The O’s
My thoughts are with his family and friends
Unfortunately, these photos were all taken on Southend seafront over the last week, as the heatwave brought thousands of visitors to the city.
But have you ever wondered what happens to the litter after the crowds leave the beach?
Early each morning, while most people are still waking up, cleaning teams are already out making sure the beaches, paths and public areas are tidy and ready again by 8am.
It is a huge daily operation, especially during busy periods like the Bank Holiday weekend, when thousands of people head to Southend for the sun, sea and seafront attractions.
Across more than seven miles of coastline, SUEZ crews work incredibly hard to clear tonnes of litter left behind after busy days.
Their work includes picking up litter by hand, using litter pickers, emptying hundreds of bins and using specialist equipment, including a mechanical beach rake, to sift through the sand and remove waste.
The teams also stay on the seafront throughout the day, clearing litter where they can and keeping bins emptied as visitor numbers build.
On a busy summer weekend, up to 20 tonnes of waste can be collected from the seafront alone. That's roughly the same amount of waste produced by around 22 households in an entire year.
By the time visitors arrive each morning, there is often very little sign of what came before.
It is an incredible effort from the crews working behind the scenes to keep Southend looking its best during the busiest and hottest days of the year. 👏
