Catching defense is still likely undervalued greatly, at least in the public space. Yes, framing + run game ... but also ~150 pitch call decisions per game, game-planning, playing in-game psychologist with pitcher, etc. Moreover, since so many batted balls have been taken out of play in the last 20 years - the catcher position holds more relative value (even with partial ABS)
