@TheMultiStudios@itsamedfffaz@TheMultiStudios You're right. It's incredible how far more complex and nuanced the movie could have been.
Hopefully, when the movie gets a franchise, we will see the return of Chelsea and a lot more compelling stories! ๐๐๐โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
@itsamedfffaz@itsamedfffaz It's great to see people still speaking about this movie! ๐ฟ๐
"Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken" has great potential to be a fully fledged franchise, and. I think the producers might see it, too!
@itsamedfffaz@itsamedfffaz Still, I canโt help but admire two things:
1. The incomparable vocal performances Lana Condor (Ruby) and Annie Murphy (Chelsea) delivered.
2. The fact that the movie introduced a universe with a lot of potential, with the mark still being active to this day.
@NasT990096@AlfieChatTW@Dreamworks I got some interesting news: The โRuby Gillmanโ has been filed and sent to the examiner attorney in order to greenlight a series or not in January 23rd 2026. So, fingers crossed ๐ค.

Edit: Check the โGoods and Servicesโ.
@AlfieChatTW While cautious optimism is warranted, the first non-final action has caused the Goods and Services section of the TSDR USPTO entry to be narrowed down, which includes sequels and series, among others.

@AlfieChatTW We have news that could signal further development of the โRuby Gillmanโ mark: The mark has been filed and promoted to the examiner attorney during January 2nd 2026 and the first non-final action was issued during January 23rd.
@itsamedfffaz to the examiner attorney, in order to be considered for a franchise. The first non-final action from the attorney was issued during January 23rd, causing the Goods and Services section of the TSDR USPTO entry to be narrowed down.
@itsamedfffaz You know, your earlier claims about โRuby Gillman, Teenage Krakenโ getting a merchandise may be coming true in the best way possible: The mark has already received three 6-month SOU extensions, then it was filed (January 2nd) and was then promoted
@WalterCulture You know, if itโs in your plans, you should definitely cover the 1933 movie โKing Kongโ!
A jewel of ingenuity and wonder from the Golden Age of Hollywood!
