@CorbinSchuster Yes rain is always welcome for next year’s winter crop but this rain event across SA Vic will spoil hay that buyers can ill afford to lose this season. A shocker for hay Corbin
Hay vs grain. Some tough calls pending in SA Vic. Yield potentials of cereal crops are wide but here is the theory of one outcome. Putting it into to practice may prove tricky.

The challenges of #hay22. Seems the window has been opened to cut oaten hay (and some vetch and pasture) in eastern Aust but growers still have the mid-Nov rains to contend with. Given the lack of baled hay, damaged hay will be valued.
@James_Stacey_@Agrimilk@Warwick_Long Yes a big dent in supplies esp vetch this year in Vic. Could be some impressive dry land Lucerne hay coming from NSW like last summer
@Sally_Mallee Yep tough making hay this year. Makes you wonder where the hay will come from this season. The West has a dry burst and hope the East gets one soon. Good luck
