The thing is…many recent Macau/HK fansign winners are influencers on douyin /xhs who buy fansign slots* to gain clout. A lot of them just appears outta nowhere, especially those who interacted with cy and sh, probably has never listen to any of thei albums nor went to their solo concert yet, each one of them claim to be “long time fans for 13 years”
those influencers are pretty (and it’s never anyone’s fault to be pretty) BUT it’s also true that some of them would publish their fansign videos and say things lowkey misleading to their own followers to think they have a chance to develop romantic relationships with the idol. Those girls’ followers or just general public will go with that narrative and push it further to twist warm fansign interactions into weird nonsense — to put it more straightforwardly, they did it for clout. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
*slots of a fansign: I don’t wanna go into detail but just know that it’s not simply about “whoever buys more album gets to win”. These influencers, who has probably never payed attention to their artistic output, took advantage of that and joined the fansign.
