''What is clear is that Unai Emery is a manager capable of restoring some of the sense of grandeur that has been missing from Aston Villa for far too long''
@KevHughesie@mickdavfc I saw one journalist call it a 'high two footed challenge' yet his left leg goes nowhere near the attacker.
He is making a clear attempt to win the ball (having to do so as the left hand side was so wide open) that results in a natural coming together.
@MTVilla1983@Alex_Berwick The frustration is fair, and on paper its crazy that our 4 years of success still equals a reactive transfer plan that can change week to week. Other teams must think we are a right mess but we are always robbing Peter to pay Paul and incredibly we are making it work in the pitch
@MTVilla1983@Alex_Berwick While this is a solid argument, I guess the counter would be with each RB step we took we couldn't afford the single outlay needed for one of those players so take risks to see if they work out. Garcia looked decent, made a mistake v Utd then got injured amd has struggled since.
I have no idea if this is genuine but before we lose our sh*t remember the Lindelof and Barkley signings and Emery's impact on them. Maybe even Bizot given the number of games he played.
An experienced option for a small fee to provide support to the first choice RB 🤷♂️

A democratically elected British Prime Minister has been driven from office by a relentless campaign of propaganda and misinformation; funded, amplified and perpetuated by foreign billionaires and elites whose interests bear zero resemblance to those of ordinary working people.
A noble gesture from an emotional Keir Starmer, entirely consistent with his conduct in office.
A truly sad day for British democracy.
His full resignation speech:
@AVFCchats I actually think the first 3 games could be tough.
Away to Brighton will be a difficult game, then Home to Arsenal (Rogers?) could take a lot out off us before Hull Away, being a newly promoted side and we we could be winless/pointless.
I think 5 pts would be a positive return.
@ProperVillans Kamara, Tielemans and McGinn are more important, our overall best player, our best footballer and our inspirational captain.
You could argue that Torres is also more important for the way we play.
Rogers is huge for us no doubt but he thrives because of the way we play into him
Most Champions League matches without winning the trophy 🏆
🥇Dynamo Kyiv: 265
🥈Arsenal: 240🎵Second again Ole Ole🎵
🥉Galatasaray: 203
4️⃣ Anderlecht: 200
5️⃣ Athletic Madrid: 196
6️⃣ Olympiacos: 196
7️⃣ Rangers: 185
What a time to be alive 🥳🥳🥳
@VillaViews_ J Kluivert from Bournemouth.
Can play left or as a 10 and would work so well with Rogers, Buendia, Tielemans, Barkley and McGinn.
Maybe 30m gets him.
@JTT_AVF Better value abroad but Barnes ticks some key boxes, pace, Prem ready, scores goals and ability to play in different areas. I also think his homegrown status helps as well.
I do think anything over 25m is crazy though given his injury record. PL player tax increases the value.
Really interesting to see how the summer plays out now for #AVFC with the aim to try and kick on again if we have the wiggle room with finances, which i don't claim to fully understand. There is real quality in the PL which I guess would be costly so wouldn't be surprised if we..
#AVFC finishing 4th and winning the Europa League is a bigger achievement than Arsenal winning the League.
Emery is pound for pound the best manager in the league, and its not close.
@Son_Lyme Does Rowe help with the home grown quota for Europe? Obviously not club grown but I think helps with overall quota, similarly Abraham helps with that more than Malen did, so maybe deemed more viable then some others.
@CyberVillan Outgoings seem to be inevitable, a slight positive being players leaving on a high and not on a downer. It will be a really interesting window, im just hoping for more structure this year to embrace the good feeling with the club attm, and not scrambling around like last year

..there are places in the squad that will need filling (Luiz, Bailey, Elliott, Sancho and others) and we have some young talents joining or returning from loan.
It would be amazing to have a smooth window that fully equips what Emery wants. Maybe unlikely but will be exciting!!
..focus on additions from Europe but if we can bring in 1/2 from the PL the below are a number of standouts
J Kluivert
A Scott
G Rutter
K Mitoma
C Rigg
H Wilson
J Kroupi
D Ouattara
K Shade
I N'Diaye
J King
L Ugochukwu
J Gittens
M Fernandes
J Bowen
E Le Fee
A Stach
I Sarr
