@antibearthesis I wish, 20 years ago, I'd bought more land in Caribbean. No more will ever be created and demand is constant and increasing. Thousands of miles of beaches. Mountains, sun and year-round food production. Some governments here are more democratic than Canada, EU or UK.
@DaveMacLachlan1 Gibson Firebird I, very rare, 1963 to 1965. Clapton also used one in "Cream". I bought one in 1971 for $125, sold after neck started coming off. Best sounding guitar I ever owned.
From 2003 I remember the Japanese population in Constanza. They were imported by the dictator Trujillo before WWII, along with Jews in Sosua and pure Spanish immigrants including my friends in Constanza. Ostensibly, to "whiten" the population. They all got along fine. The Japanese maintained their own culture within, and seemed to marry their own race, but didn't overtly change the Dominican culture.
Glad to hear they're still there.
@HVNYrefugee I was in Constanza in 2003 visiting the family that grows most of the celery in DR. At the time, they would dry the garlic harvest in the narrow streets.
