Did you know the @ASWB refuses to release any data on pass/fail rates of their social work licensure exam by race? They say their test isn't racially biased, but they refuse to release any data to prove it.
@ASWB if your test isn't racist, release the data.
I almost forgot how great it feels to leave space at the end of a session to discuss how therapy is going and what can be done better from a client's perspective. Holding that space reminds me of who therapy is for and what the work is.
Excellent article but I would add playing video games to the list. Any games, really, that you can lose yourself in. Distraction + intense focus on something else in the present moment = relief, even if temporary.

It’s #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and here is my regularly scheduled reminder to parents that your child can have a mental illness even if you are a great parent. It’s ok for your kids to need help from a professional 💜

If you're a social worker, therapist, or counselor and scream "all lives matter" and don't see the ongoing issue of black people dying as a result of police brutality.... You might want to rethink your profession.
I was really upset that homeless people did not have access to the $1,400 stimulus check.
I just found this out. If you are homeless, you can go to a tax return office where they will file something called EIP return. They will put the money on a debit card after.
Retweet.!
@SFreedenthal This is so great! I teach suicide assessment and intervention, and I'm getting further ideas to add to the class.
My students always appreciate being able to discuss suicide, since they have so much anxiety about how to talk about it.
