Preach! My goal as an elementary #physed teacher is to create a foundation of skills, concepts and knowledge to lead healthy, active lifestyles. Fun, positive experiences and perceived competence can make or break it for our students. Good stuff @JWalker216 @PhysEdDepot
https://t.co/OaYHZJP2jJ has taken the world by storm over the past 5 years. I remember #1 when my Twitter account blew up with people stunned in amazement with what our Ss achieved. This year we are back for '#6' & we invite the #physed world to help us: https://t.co/Ow2jav9nKz
Three-way tag: noodles tag you are it (so hand off after you tag someone). Balls are safety from noodles. Tag someone with a ball and they will hand you the ball. Level 2- add the twist on the chorus! @BigTennPhysEd@USGames@OPENPhysEd@BSNSPORTS#tag#nhahperd19
This student is working on dribbling a soccer ball using small taps with the insides of his feet while using his wheelchair and participating in a group activity with his peers. #PhysEd#adaptedPE#inclusion
I created practice task cards based on Moston’s pratcie teach style. Levels reflect self reflection from Ss provided in last class. Using these levels to direct instruction to where students needs are. #espechat#physed
Thanks for coming Kevin. That was not my best session... not terrible, but room to improve for next time.
I chose new activities from @OPENPhysEd and today’s agenda lacked flow. #reflection
Foam Ball Frenzy:
Hockey Unit 2nd-5th begin demonstrating they can carry the ball/puck moving safely in fun lead-up games like “hockey take-away”. K-1 start after thanksgiving with stick exploration activities. Cpt Pete has a great resource on TPT for this unit @CapnPetesPE#PhysEd
Working on striking with Floorball today. Focusing on the contact and strategie to not play to close to the net. This week is the first time we have played this and Ss are loving it. Lots of success. #physed
Health literacy, physical literacy, dance, and a comic book?! So grateful to have worked on something that combines my greatest joys! #teachershelpingteachers#marvelousMsLoughlin
First, how much fun! Second, what a great adaptation to throwing. Include Ss at other side attempting to catch or place pins to knock down. Retrieve certain colors to include fitness, sorting, etc. turn it into a relay. The options are endless! #adaptedpe#adaptedthrowing
Parent teacher conferences last week. Here’s how I encouraged students & parents to visit me.
- sign outside my door
- told students the whole week to come visit & bring your parents
- had stations out for sts to show parents things they have learned in #physed
= huge success
