Surgery remains a male-dominated field where women still face sexist verbal abuse—ranging from blatant remarks to subtle microaggressions that contribute to emotional distress and burnout
Voices Behind the Mask, an initiative by Women in Surgery Italia (WIS Italia), explored the prevalence and impact of this issue through an anonymous international survey
Conducted in May–June 2024, it gathered responses from 81 women surgeons (mostly general surgeons in Europe) and analyzed 150 sexist comments into 8 recurring themes

Phylogenetic analysis identifies two distinct evolutionary trajectories in the multistep progression of IPMNs to pancreatic cancer: one driven by a single ancestral clone, and another involving multiple independent ancestral clones.
