I'm critical by nature.
I WILL look for flaws in GOOD ideas.
Not because I don't like the idea.
Because I want to help make the idea better.
I NEVER accept ANY idea as "perfect".
(Except my own....'cuz I'm also egotistical.)

I've yet to hear or read any explanation that makes sense to me.

Why does "I identify as...." matter?
I dress the way I wanna dress.

How do you know I don't experience significant consequnces? Given that I didn't label myself, you have no idea which, if any, label might apply.
It simply seems ludicrous to me to apply for a job (or whatever) and....

As for "principal" square root: never taught, and doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It implies positive numbers have some intrinsic superiority over negative ones.
I'd wager it'd result in algebra errors by students when they got to it
