I have to say I completely disagree.
It's more democratised than ever - anyone can become a photographer & that's exciting.
Equipment/film is expensive, its opened it up to those who once could't afford it.
Now is an amazing time to be a photographer.
I have spent years using a mobile phone as my only medium for making photographs and I have come up against a lot of snobbery.
Let people work with the tools they have, let people be creative in any way they are comfortable with.
No-one is the gatekeeper of photography.
