Even teams building products with zero AI exposure are getting squeezed, because the capacity reallocation shrinks supply on ordinary parts too. If your BOM has high-cap MLCCs and you ship in Q4, don't wait for contract prices to "confirm" the trend — spot leads contract by 2–3 months, so the increase is already locked in. Qualifying an X5R substitute or a domestic second source now is far cheaper than paying 5x in the spot market later.
The 2027–2028 timeline sounds about right to me given the 18–24 month capacity ramp. This isn't a squeeze you wait out.
