Union Territory of Ladakh has started utilising 90 million litres of glacier water per day, for sustainable water and agricultural security in Ladakh.

Previously lost as untapped runoff into the River Indus, this volume of glacial-melt water from Stok village Nallah in Leh, is now being directly channelized into the Igoo-Phey Irrigation Canal, catering to nearly 12 villages and augmenting irrigation of over 1000 acres of barren land that earlier remained parched due to paucity of water into the canal.

With the divine blessings of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus, the upgraded facilities and newly expanded building of Sri Bharati Tirtha Veda Pathashala, Shankarapura, Bengaluru, were inaugurated by Sri P. A. Murali, CEO & Administrator of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, on 19 August 2026.

By the divine grace of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus, the Pathashala provides Vedic education, accommodation and allied facilities entirely free, without any financial burden on the parents, and offers students the opportunity to study the Rigveda and Krishna Yajurveda up to the Ghananta level. At present, 35 students are pursuing their adhyayana here under the guidance of esteemed Ghanapathis. With the expansion of the residential facility, provision has now been made to accommodate an additional 50 students.

With excellent facilities and a serene, disciplined environment, the Pathashala provides an ideal setting for the traditional pursuit of Veda Adhyayana.
