In the mid 70s a group from Georgia Tech became the first paddlers to navigate the upper reaches of Little River Canyon just southwest of Chattanooga, TN. Due to the dangerous geological nature of the run (massive, sporadically placed boulders create lots of siphons in the river)
"Slicey" boats are kayaks made with very little volume in the front and back, allowing the paddler to (quite literally) slice the water and do freestyle tricks. Here's part of an edit I put together of my friend Will and I slicing up the Cheoah River in Robbinsville, NC.
