Need reading all the way through, saving here for later, but really show's you how, just slick, our life is with so many integrated systems that rely on systems we never see. And how that has made us so aware of difficulty when they break
A look at a project we completed earlier this year and how we think artists should engage with AI. Not to remove creativity, but to empower creatives to make more things. Claude didn't take over the creativity, it allows us to try things faster.
Squidsoup is a collective of artists and designers who make immersive experiences with sound, light and space.
We caught up with them before one of their largest projects to date: a live performance with an orchestra at the Southbank Centre in London.
@RestIsPolitics Self sovereign control of llms and the data they are based on is something that I stand strongly by both for individuals and organisations AND nation states. SaaS models for something that could be parsing EVERYTHING about you is just blindly walking into danger
@saif_4d@andrewpprice I would suspect that's one way of doing this. Feed the image to a model that provides a description of the scene and the textures, then generates a search query or just returns the texture IDs from something like a RAG system where asset descriptors are stored as vectors. Quick.
@BottoDAO@ArtBasel@bottoproject@quasimondo this is exactly a path I'm running down at the moment, love it. Would love to chat more about this process and if you're ever doing any talks about Botto's creation or want to collaborate, please reach out!
@quasimondo I'm currently putting together a self-sovereign local memory concept using a mix of 9b for day to day operations, then larger models for nightly tasks like memory management and also could allocate to larger tasks they you don't want immediately
@tobbelobb I would be interested in talking about a non-3dprinting implementation of your control system if that would be something you'd be on board with? DM me if you are!
