Peanut's stream by the way, on the graph.
No notable increase in players after.
No notable decrease after.
None of this matters, anybody genuinely trying to drive players away is a vocal minority yelling at clouds. His viewers didn't even buy your game to begin with.
Also, below is the steam chart for DBD. Obviously not represented by console gamers. But it illustrates the point pretty well, I reckon.
Not only did DBD not experience any notable play jumps, it also didn't experience any notable DECREASES. Which means that at the end of the day, you're a very vocal minority who both drove away new players, AND didn't manage to make a DENT in Behaviour's bottom line.
Poorly drawn red circle is Peanut's stream approx.
Peanut's community did not in any way, shape, or form instigate what happened here with this. YOU did. That's what you need to understand. Your community specifically sought out older clips to leak of Peanut, dogpiled the devs, and flooded the timeline with your whining.
The reason it isn't similar is because nobody cares about DBD. I have seen COUNTLESS slurs slung at Peanut fans, which were obviously returned.
It isn't a "place of defense" at all. It was direct opposition against Peanut and his fanbase for touching "your game". You can't rewrite history that happened 24 hours ago.
As for your other additional reply, it's cool that you don't "want" them. But, they're tolerated aren't they? You play it far more than I do, you hear the post-game chat. When I did play the game a long time ago, it was just someone spamming the N-Word over and over, and everyone laughing about it or chiming in. That hasn't changed. So even the moderation team allows it.
Lastly, the idea that the DBD devs have "fought for marginalized groups" is absolutely hysterical. They weren't going to walk back their decision until you flooded their DM's with threats and hatred. They said as much in their own statement, their walk back was a result of community outrage. They do not give a FUCK about you.
What? No that's an outright valid response to your bullshit argument.
Elon has made statements against:
- Trans people
- Gay people
- Jewish people
- Black people
- Islamic people
- Immigrants in general
This includes statements against DEI, immigration, HBCU pilots, the "Great Replacement" theory, and so on.
BlueSky is out the door and to the left. Elon monetizes your posts, you're literally paying him by arguing against the stuff he supports both verbally and fiscally.
If you've somehow convinced yourself that your own creators are not also "problematic" in the way the speak on/off camera because it's edgy, funny, or you just don't care because it doesn't effect *you*, you're the problem.
Peanut's humor is the most common among 18-25 year olds by a longshot. If you watch a male creator, that's 100% how they talk in private, and it WILL bleed into the public space. Your refusal to acknowledge it or "hold them accountable" is just as much on you as it is them.
How is it every time TheBurntPeanut's community is attacked on Twitter, the attackers flip it around to make it seem like they were attacked first?
Brothers, sisters, and etc. NOBODY in his community is thinking about you until YOU dogpile them. Then when his 20 million followers clap back it's unfair, racist, homophobic, sexist, transphobic, bigoted, etc.
You dogpile the devs and doxx them (for using a very common business practice to promote content).
The Iridescent Tier creator accounts give access not only to cosmetics, but all content flat out. Across the board. This already exists, they already do this. So if it's a matter of free content, you need to look inwards to your own community and ask yourself if that's the problem.
If it's about Peanut's character, watch one stream and write down every problematic thing he says, then compare it to your own predetermined notions. If it lines up, fair game. If it doesn't, admit you were wrong and shut the fuck up.
@JukeboxFPS "Erm, we'll see if you're still plsying by then buddy" ☝️🤓
Are you retarded? What, you think I play 1 game?
I play multiple games, so obviously I won't play it for 2 years straight. But I'll absolutely be there every wipe, just like I am with Tarkov.
I realize Edgerunners S1 is huge for a lot of people, but holy moly. S2 was peak.
I feel like people misunderstand the value of a bittersweet ending. It doesn't have to end in mass death or tragedy for it to be a genuinely impactful experience.
@JukeboxFPS Wardogs was never meant for 1.2 million individual players on launch, or 151,000 daily peaks of concurrent.
"Erm, name 10 EA games that averaged 100,000" what the fuck does that have to do with what I said?
S2 is panning out so bad they got me redownloading Grayzone Warfare just to feel something. S1 had it's progression problems, which snowballed into the other issues players complained about. Fix that one specific thing and lock things behind sensible barriers, and most players will stick around.
I know their goal is to only really cater to 5,000-10,000 players. As a live service game that is just a fundamentally retarded take. They WILL fail if they discard the majority. They said it themselves, publishers hound them all the time about player metrics, reviews, etc. When everyone leaves a negative review on the way out, they'll end up like SQUAD.
Wardogs deserves better than SQUAD.
"Play how you want" but they absolutely raped pilots in just about every metric. Meanwhile Urals specifically got a buff for round trips.
They also obliterated DMR's, now they're just about identical to AR's. High recoil AND a damage nerf? Totally unnecessary. Made it to the SKS and skipped right fucking past it. Made it to the BMR, skipped right fucking past it. I wouldn't run that shit if it were free.
LMG's also got obliterated. The PKM should still kill pretty quick, it's STILL 7.62x54. A damage drop off would have been fine.
The prevalence of the T-72 and Gepard also drive me insane. They went on the podcast and completely deluded themselves into thinking "Oh it's a weak tank, just blow it up." Uh, it's a tank. How about YOU lock it behind the 20pt mark so it can't steam roll every developing FOB? Can you blow it up? Yes. Is it particularly difficult? Not really, especially not now with MAAWs being in circulation. But a 5 minute delay on a FOB because the builders couldn't bring a MAAWs AND a large hammer is 5 extra minutes enemy FOB's have to get mortars up and rain hell on you for the rest of the game.
Don't even get me started on fucking mortars, either. That animation? A complete joke. It changed literally nothing. 3 mortars aimed at one FOB perform exactly how they did before, that 1.8sec difference is nothing.
Blue still sticks out in every single part of every single map, their uniform didn't get any darker; just less saturated. So good fucking luck playing Blue and trying to hide in any way, Green still dominates with functionally free camo.
Overall, 75% of the "balancing" changes were knee-jerk, short sighted reactions. Completely unnecessary or mismanaged.
