@Baes_Theorem @banteg Things mostly go off the rails when you accept take any seemingly simple statement to its logical extreme and I think in many ways this is why it's good for society to present a diversity of opinion (and generally scary and unpredictable to imagine ais trying to solve morals)

I do think though that FGA predates EGA somewhat? and the tohoku paper is 1955, after which the major contribution was applying the theory of locally ringed spaces to affine schemes?
