@teacher2teacher As a science teacher, my classroom is half digital, half on paper. They take notes & record observations on paper, which I quickly stamp for completion. They answer a handful of questions on their laptops, which I read & grade in sec. This has reduced my grading time drastically.

@sage_stage I feel your pain. Last year, with just 4 weeks left of school, I was given a student who only spoke Spanish and she was blind. She had a one-on-one aide and I provided audio science articles for her to listen to in Spanish. That's all I could do for the few weeks I had her.

Imagine men explaining to a judge the reason they need Viagra is because they are having difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection.

Imagine men telling a judge they’ve been having reduced sexual desire, and stress related to sexual performance, hence the need for a penile implant.

Better yet imagine a man trying to get a vasectomy and being denied.

Then having to beg a judge to allow him the procedure for permanent contraception.

It’s hard to imagine because it will never happen to them.

They would never be dehumanized as Kate Cox is being dehumanized.

Made to plead and beg before a court just to have basic medical care.

@ModestTeacher Yes! I've had some pretty crappy years, but they're greatly outnumbered by the good ones. Plus, there seems to be more respect and better pay for educators in CA, at least the part of it where I live and teach.

I post a weekly "check-in" form for my Ss to fill out. I write them emails in response if they tell me something that is important. It keeps me informed on what's going on w/ their lives, & builds strong relationships.

On Monday, I'll be receiving a student who is blind and only speaks Spanish. I studied Spanish for 5 years, entonces yo puedo hablar en Español poquito, but I've never taught a sightless person in my 19 years in the classroom. I'm terrified. Any advice?

@returnofthegoth I also built a table over my treadmill for my laptop so I can work while walking. I lift weights while watching TV. Multitask wherever you can and you can squeeze in a lot in this life.

@returnofthegoth I spent years saving up and slowly buying pieces of exercise equipment (weights, bench, treadmill, elliptical), so I can work out at home instead of wasting time driving to the gym. Also, I do 15 to 20 min HIIIT workouts from YouTube for (quick but intense) cardio
