Took the kids and the dog to the National Bike Week Road Show @ Millenium Place yesterday. Here's a little video of our ride down some of the #coundoncycleway
@RobertKwolek Trams can be useful, but in most cities high quality bus and cycle networks would be far better value for money. Trams give politicians confidence for major road space reallocation, but they could do this anyway far cheaper if they just had more conviction
@RantyHighwayman Looks good. Wonder whether a physical parking deterrent of some description might be required in the carriageways rather than just a TRO?
@jordanbhx I think it needs both. A strong dense centre with more of the sky scrapers but then multiple strong local and district centres with high quality mid densities like the left. Both promote reduced need to travel, especially by car..

It's a great shout actually
@adamtranter @bananatransit I don't agree with the need to provide for horses everywhere. Horse Riding is extremely niche, it's not a practical way to get people around and partake in society. Horse manure on a cycleway is not a good thing
@skyblue_boy@runforall@covrunner I finished 5184 out of 22299 in the Manchester Marathon, so might have made the top 5000 if I'd have gone for it. I was constantly checking my time, nowhere near your pace!
Let's chase the shiny future things that will serve a very wealthy niche rather than basic proven technology for the masses. Buses, cycles and feet!

Ventured into Starbucks in Brum on my way to a meeting. They don't display basic coffees on their screens. So I have to ask for a basic white americano. Server rings it up and asks for payment. I ask what size they come in? S/R/L.. ask for a large and the price only goes up 10p
