Yesterday, we launched the Oil Palm Tree Crop Revolution Initiative with an initial procurement of 620,000 improved oil palm seedlings for distribution to farmers across Akwa Ibom State.

Oil palm has always been a major part of our heritage and economy. Through this initiative, we are creating a pathway for wealth creation, economic empowerment, and sustainable prosperity for thousands of families across our State.

I am particularly pleased that 500 households in each local government area have been profiled to ensure proper monitoring and support for the programme. We will continue to invest in agriculture, revive abandoned but viable assets, and create opportunities for our people to prosper through hard work.

The future of Akwa Ibom agriculture is bright, and together, we will reclaim our place as a leading oil palm producing State.
