i like how their first instinct is "itโs fake food" and not "itโs poor quality produce that wasnโt conserved properly in the supply chain" so now instead of advocating for better food regulations they just spat out conspiracy theories online
BREAKING: More than half of the publicly identified donors to President Trumpโs White House ballroom project have won new or expanded federal contracts worth more than $50 billion, per WaPo
For the last 1.5 years, the Ohio House Medicaid Committee has been working to protect the taxpayer while serving our most vulnerable citizens. As a member of this committee, I can attest that especially over the past few weeks, both sides of the aisle have been working together to honestly find policies to eliminate fraud, waste, & abuse.
Last week, Speaker Huffman added three members of leadership to the Medicaid Committee. These three have taken over the process from the chair, and yesterday they presented a 177-page substitute bill that had been released just a few hours before committee began. This was an ambush! Turns out, the details of this sub bill has provisions in it that totally blow up Medicaid in Ohio and will have the exact opposite effect of what we have been working towards.
Last General Assembly we had a rule that required all amendments and sub bills to be available by midnight the day before adopted (The Cinderella Rule). This rule gave some time for amendments to be read; however, this rule was eliminated in this GA. The result has been that time and time again, members have been forced to take votes before seeing the bill, and then only later getting the details. Yesterday, leadership hid the ball again, and in doing so, left the original members of the committee who werenโt part of crafting the sub bill holding the bag.
This is the latest example of the style of leadership the Ohio House is under.โdo what we say or else. Believe me, I know firsthand!
And most unfortunately, this trick yesterday probably wasted an opportunity to truly protect the taxpayer. We were on a path to make major and positive reforms to Medicaid in Ohio to weed out Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; however, now with this sub bill and the way it was handled, how can we trust what we are being told by leadership?
Simply put, we cannot.
Oh, and to be clear, Iโm a โNoโ on this SubBill.

I swear the nonstop screaming about Medicaid fraud is a convenient distraction from JobsOhio selling out Ohio to Big Tech and helping to craft HB188 โOhio-Israel Trade and Innovation Partnership,โ a state-customised iteration of NDAA section 224.
If lawmakers are serious about tackling fraud, waste & abuse, pass HB779 & SB420 for JobsOhio full audits, transparency & public records. No more black box.โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
This is the same JobsOhio hit with cronyism, self-dealing & mission creep, dragged into the Ted Carter/OSU scandal, and roasted by John Kasich himself.
HB188 & HB292 expand the power of Ohioโs black-box economic development machine over university R&D, workforce development, defense, aerospace & emerging techโฆ while funneling even more public money into corporate welfare.
Now weโre already hearing about public-private partnerships with Israeli firms for costly, vendor-dependent โsolutionsโ to the grid, water, and land strain caused by projects Ohioans never consented to in the first place.
Ask bill sponsors @RepThomasHall@esyns Cuyahoga County Executive @ChrisRonayne and OJC (501 (4)c) proponents, the latter is stated to have a seat on the public-private commission created by HB188
Gosh I love the OSINT community. This project throws every plane flying overhead onto your ceiling in near real time โ decoded from a cheap radio, w/ live stars and the ISS behind it. Falling asleep under a live map of the sky. h/t @CameronPaczek
@justinamash Justin, are we actually shocked? The Republican Party is a shell of what it once was. Itโs a party of pure capitulation and insider dealing.
Members of Congress donโt swear an oath to a political party.
They swear to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Two hundred seven Republicans betrayed their oath.
