Let me categorically Debunk this utter rot. @sainsburys.
I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.
Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.
I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"
You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.
MANCHESTER FASHION BRAND BOUND SET TO OPEN IN OLD CLARK BROTHERS ‘EVERYTHING SHOP’ IN NQ
Eight years since it sold its very first pieces, homegrown fashion label Bound are about to open their very first shop.
It’ll be taking on the old ‘everything shop’ Clark Brothers - which sold, well, everything from Christmas decorations to stationary - which closed for good a few months back, one of the oldest businesses in the Northern Quarter.
Now it’ll be given a new lease of life - with Bound taking it on for an initial nine months, and maybe longer if things go well.
We had a chat with Jake Messer about the plans for the spot…

@ozor_cc Morning 👋. Eccles is currently being renovated 🥳 and the big space in your picture used to be shops, market 😕 and a car park. Hopefully a lot better in the future 🤞You can see Old Trafford in the distance 🇾🇪.
Someone held a boiling kettle against Spiro’s face. This is how Sam helped him on his journey to find a forever home.
It breaks the hearts of council pound carers to have to euthanise a healthy dog. No one goes into rescue to end lives, but sadly the rescue crisis is out of control.
You can make a difference, even if it's just for a couple of weeks.

2nd day of renovating Ian’s flat and the flooring is down and the oven has been delivered. Can anyone help by installing this oven?
From being homeless when I met him in Feb 2024 to this. Thanks to EVERYONE who has helped me to help Ian. I couldn’t have done it alone ❤️
Upon reflection….
Late last night, we crossed the footbridge next to Aviva Studios and looked at the reflection in the River Irwell of one of the most important bridges or viaducts in the world. This is Stephenson’s viaduct from 1830 on the first inter-city railway line on the planet. The reflections look solid as though one could just step into the water and walk that entrancing reverse curve.
What are we seeing in Manchester here?
Two broad but sweet segmental arches (these are arches less than a full half-circle) leaping the river and made from big beefy squared off and smoothed sandstone blocks. At the edges the stone has weathered, softening the structure, making us aware of the years that have passed since construction: telling us, literally, that a lot of water has passed under the bridge. The design is efficient, smart, and because of that simple fitness for purpose, beautiful in how it looks and what it does. It’s cleverly slewed at an angle across the river too.
In these views the bridge/viaduct lives up to its position as one of most significant in human history.

They’ve survived everything together.
The Galguero together, the streets together, being trapped together, the shelter together … if only a home together was a dream come true 🙏🏻
That’s the hardest part.
A home together ♥️ if only 🫶🏻
Plz share and let’s try 🙏🏻❤️
I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.
I’ve loved nothing more than putting that shirt on and representing my country over the years.
I wish the players, all the best this summer 🏴
We need 8 people to give £10 before May 21st to keep this months clinic fundraise on track

@mcrwire@GreatManchester My dad (92) lived 5 doors down from the Abbey in the 1930s. He had one of his first pints in there (the other was the Ducie 🤣). He’s chuffed to bits it’s being renovated 🥳
