BJP is in a lot of pain, their primary weapon of propaganda - the godi media - has been demolished. Its credibility is in tatters. This post shows that pain. He also misleads when he equates the act of people appreciating the work done by journalists on the ground as being equivalent to the journalists being aligned with the protest. Both are not the same, he knows, but its his job.

But more importantly, this collage that he's attached to his post is an attempt to warn the journalists that they're being watched.

These independent journalists, some of who worked round the clock, brought important information to the public square which ensured that the legacy media couldn't run its agenda this time. People's voices and their pain was heard, and it made many people sympathise with the movement. Till very recently, the legacy media would successfully turn public opinion against all protests, repeatedly, whether it was CAA-NRC or farmers protest. This time, they couldn't do it.

Support independent media, support democracy.

Hello @GitanjaliAngmo, do you and @Wangchuk66 own this movement that you feel that you can dictate how this movement should go forward? There were many other students who were also fasting at the same time, do you hear them talking in the same tone, as if they own the movement?

And what does it mean by don't politicise? Are political parties of this country not part of the democratic space of this country? @Wangchuk66 is quite happy to deal with BJP and their leaders, and break his fast in their presence. So, then which political parties are you talking about which shouldn't 'politicise'? Are you saying that the opposition parties should not participate in this moment?

And since when are ideologies not important? Did Gandhi not have an ideology? Did Nehru not have an ideology? Did Bhagat Singh not have an ideology? When BJP and its supporters are declaring the students who are protesting to be anti-national, is that not the output of an ideology? Are the textbooks that are being changed across the state not an output of an ideology? Are the RSS people who are being placed in every university and dictating how the universities should run not the output of an ideology? If you're saying that you care for the students, then you should also know that what the students are going through today is because of an ideology that has taken over the country.

In fact, the most central aspect of what is happening in India today, is a fight of ideologies.

Three UN-appointed Special Rapporteurs have written to the Centre expressing concerns over alleged discrimination against minorities during the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, particularly in West Bengal, and have sought details of the steps taken to ensure the process complies with India’s international human rights obligations.

The experts raised concerns over the reported deletion of voter names, the alleged disproportionate impact on Muslim and Bengali electors, and the use of statements by political leaders that they said could reinforce discriminatory rhetoric. They also sought information on measures to ensure that eligible voters are not prevented from participating in elections.

The Election Commission’s SIR exercise, which was upheld by the Supreme Court, was aimed at ensuring accurate and reliable electoral rolls.
