Who’s in this photo? @MomsDemand Mothers and others who #keepgoing to end gun violence! Today we are at the MO state capitol to talk with our #moleg about closing the loop hole with our state laws concerning domestic violence gun laws.
Well there’s this special interest called the gun lobby and they convinced the GOP to embrace guns for anyone, anywhere and turned their base into rabid gun extremists and now over 120 people are killed by guns every day and politicians are routinely shot at or assassinated.
Just saw AltNP’s fantastic website, https://t.co/N67M71wT6K. It’s wild to me that @LLBean is not on the list of supporters, given they’d be nothing w/o our forests. A rep said they don’t want to get political. Our forests aren’t political; they’re a necessity. Get on it, LL Bean.
So the deal Obama made that Trump ripped up, and the deal Iran agreed to, and then Trump bombed them anyway — except Trump also gives them $14 billion?
Is this the art of the deal?
I continue to follow the situation in the Middle East with dismay. Like other regions of the world, it is torn apart by war and violence. We cannot remain silent in the face of the suffering of so many defenseless victims of these conflicts. What wounds them wounds all of humanity. The death and pain caused by these wars is a scandal for the entire human family and a cry that rises to God!
I'm not surprised that Trump said "Quiet, Piggy" when an unnamed woman in the White House Press Corp asked him if there's anything incriminating in the Epstein files, and my lack of surprise is because he's a misogynistic dickwad.
I am, however, pretty disappointed that all her colleagues stood there quietly and said nothing in response, and no, I don't think "journalistic distance" or whatever the hell is a sufficient excuse for that.
"For every meal that a food bank provides, the SNAP program provides nine. There's no way we can meet that gap. There's no way we can replace every single one of those meals. It is not sustainable for food banks to fill this gap. We were not built to do this."
The problem is not the poor kid who gets $6 a day in food stamps.
The problem is the Walton family, worth $469 billion, & Jeff Bezos, worth $247 billion pay wages so low that their workers need food stamps.
The real welfare queens are the billionaires who pay starvation wages.
What a crazy thing to say now when one of the players who recently transferred to ACFC is one of the main targets of this type of bigotry. Hope @weareangelcity stands by their player and the rest of the players in the league being targeted by one of their own
Imagine waking up every day and your first thought is, “wow I’m not personally convinced that some athletes are women by my arbitrary standards so I’m going to make my entire personality about making them prove their gender to me!!!!”
Personally, my first thought is, “coffee.”
Dear Democratic Members of Congress: I am urging each of you to adopt a food pantry in your district this week.
Make it clear that Trump and the GOP are withholding $5 billion in a contingency fund that could fund SNAP benefits and feed Americans, so you're adopting a food pantry in your district.
Invite folks to come donate food items. Tell them you'll be there to answer questions about the shutdown. Do interviews with local news and content creators about the shutdown.
Feed families and have conversations. It's an easy thing to do.
The Republicans' bottom line boils down to this:
They'll keep the federal government closed unless Democrats help Trump increase your health care premiums and kick millions off Medicaid.
It doesn't have to be like this, and it shouldn't.
