@amlysbang My question is, if they wanted to help smaller international artists gain visibility, why not make a new "break through international artist" award? An award for non-american artists that have only just broken into the US market that year.

@ChicknBunny13 I also dont believe i have the right to put my morals on anyone. If they feel thats an ok decision, it isnt my place to try to "educate" grown adults. Im either ok with staying a fan even though i dislike it, or stop being a fan. Theyre strangers, i dont know their "best version"

@jinsuzen @nyhsjtjbts No one has asked the grammys to do anything. Ppl have just said "you are deliberately causing problems, we wont participate". Why is that a bad thing? To choose what you are willing to do based on your own personal morals and ethics?

@urlosingmeking @ctrl_sedgrick Except they claim to not be an "american" award show, and have never had a problem giving the main categories to white, english speaking artists from non-american countries. Dont pretend the grammy dont do this to other poc and non-english speakers too.

@jinsuzen @tokyoselca Do any of those artists have a huge international fanbase that speak many different languages, and are they massively popular in the west due to their local fans? Coz thats the reason bts get awarded and have interest in international awards - their fanbase.

@unfayezed Just kinda depends. If someone has to travel a lot to get there, might not be worth it. Some ppl cant relax and have fun if theyre too high, some stadiums the audio is pretty crappy in areas, etc.

@7bonobonoya7 Nah it's always been fine in live music to wear merch etc from other artists. It used to be seen as weird if you wore merch from an artist at their own show. Maybe its a cultural thing?

@kmgoogiemimi_ I honestly think it's a weird form of homophobia. Queerness is fine to them so long as it's not realistic, not taken seriously, doesnt involve actual love (just physical), still involves hetero stereotypes etc. There's also this strange acceptance of slurs in the fandom?!
