I code with music, but only without lyrics. Words in my ears fight with words in my head, and my head loses.
Film scores and lo-fi for deep work. Podcasts only for boring stuff like sorting invoices.
Music, podcasts or silence?
I paid attention for one day to how often I switch windows just to check something. Calendar, the current song, a task, a note.
The result was embarrassing.
Each switch takes two seconds. Getting back into the thought you were in takes ten minutes. Thats why i build SideGlass.
The bottleneck isn't the model anymore. It's me.
An agent writes 400 lines in two minutes. Reading them properly takes me twenty.
So I ask for smaller changes now: one thing, one commit, one thing to review. Slower on paper, faster in real life.
How do you keep reviews from becoming the bottleneck?
@MarinoFourK@rsgnl Ok. Oled will be the new default for the MacBook display in the years to come. Thereβs no need for a touchscreen in my opinion. Think about the touch bar.
SwiftUI on the Mac is not "SwiftUI on iOS, but bigger".
Windows, menus, keyboard shortcuts, hover, focus, multiple displays. Stuff iOS hands you for free is real work on macOS.
The UI was the easy part. Making it behave like a proper Mac app was the actual project.
iOS devs who moved to the Mac: what caught you off guard?
