2nd again. GGs to Fennel, they played a great series. For the first time ever I felt my lack of ability in Japanese affect my gameplay. I’ve had meaningful losses before, but this one stings a bit more than the rest. My teammates all played amazing, I feel like I let them down because I couldn’t perform my best when trying to call macro in Japanese. I hate this feeling and I’ll do everything in my power to not let them down again. I’ll take this loss on the chin and do whatever it takes to win WCS, even if I have to study Japanese for 8 hours a day. I want Japanese to come so naturally to me that I don’t even have to think about it during the game.
Thank you to all the fans who showed up to support us at PJCS. I’m sorry to disappoint with another loss just short of the finish line. To my team and everyone who supports us, I promise to bring home the WCS trophy.
Man so close😭. We fall to Fennel in the grand finals 2-3 at ACL and finish in 2nd place.
I just wanted to say that I’m so proud of the team, we showed so much perseverance today. Even though we had a rough day one, not a single person thought we couldn’t win. We all believed in each other until the very end and that’s all I can ask for.
On a more personal note, that was the most fun I had playing Unite in a long time, and its thanks to my team and the Japanese community for being so welcoming. Up until now, I always felt guilty for not being able to speak good Japanese, sometimes I felt like a hinderance to the team. But I realized I was just in my own head. Throughout all the difficulties and challenges, the team never gave up on me and it makes me so happy. I truly love this team and I’m very grateful for REJECT for taking a chance on me. I’m so proud of myself today, that was the most Japanese I’ve ever spoken in game before🤣. I want to win with this team so bad, I want to take this team to new heights. My journey has only just begun and it’s far from over. And I’m so happy I get to do it this team.
