@commonscrawl I said dolphins were mammals and was informed they were fish. Also got my score marked down. I fought it with all the righteous indignation fourth grade me could muster.
@clifton_r Or the Philippines, for that matter. It feels magical that I could just walk in and out of hospital like that. I'm still not used to it after 20+ years in Europe.
Back home after a 3-day emergency hospital stay. I'm ok and on the mend now.
Pro-tip: if you go to the ER on your own, bring a phone charger even if you don't think they'll keep you more than a couple of hours. (I had a powerbank; friend brought charger the next day.)
@evilrooster As ER visits go, I prefer the staid versions to the more colorful ones. My socks took care of the colorful part.
Protip 2: have good socks!
@evilrooster I found it most droll that I needed to go to the ER the day before a scheduled colonoscopy! And thank my lucky stars that I hadn't started with the laxatives for bowel prep yet. Because oh my. That would have been highly inconvenient at the ER.
More than half the socks in the drawer haven't been used in years because they just feel *wrong*. So I can just go ahead and toss them? Huh. How about that.
