Hush little baby don’t say a word
Kelly Clarksons gonna buy you a mocking bird
And if that mocking birds not for sale
Kelly Clarksons gonna unleash some hell
"@DHughesy said the decision for someone to report him to the VEC was “pathetic”."
So, Dave's big on political corruption, except when it comes to Dave.

WHY DOES ERIKA LIE ABOUT THINGS THAT DON'T MATTER? The gold glitter suit Erika Kirk wore to AmFest was part of the Alice + Olivia collection released in mid-November 2025, which means she likely intentionally bought it to wear at AmFest, as opposed to her story of it being the 'only thing that fit.'
This might seem like an unimportant detail, but I think it speaks to her trustworthiness: If she's willing to lie about things that DON'T matter, can we really trust her to tell the truth when things DO matter?
Warren Pickering exploring his sexuality isn't an issue, and nobody is arguing otherwise. Malcolm Roberts may, of course, require a separate briefing. Nor, on their own, are his drug use or three DUI convictions.
People fuck up. People change. People can deserve grace.
But grace is exactly what One Nation has spent decades refusing to extend to people it finds politically useful to demonise.
Immigrants are criminals. Single mothers are welfare cheats. Muslims can’t be trusted, becuase "there are no good muslims". Australia will be "swamped by Asians".
There’s something depressingly familiar about this strain of conservative politics.
Gay people are easy to condemn until a conservative discovers their own son is gay. Voluntary assisted dying is easy to oppose until a conservative watches someone they love endure a long, painful death.
Then, suddenly, complexity exists. Suddenly lived experience matters. Suddenly compassion becomes possible, and empathy activates when the suffering enters your own house.
Now their own leader has a complicated past and we're being invited to discover nuance, forgiveness and redemption,
Sure, but also, fuck that.
If your compassion only extends to people once their story becomes your story, it isn’t much of a moral principle.
When you’ve built a political movement denying grace to others, you don’t get to demand it the moment you need some for yourself.
One Nation built a political strategy out of hate and grievance, and tried to dress it up as patriotic principle. That's why the hypocrisy is so complete when the rules suddenly change for their own.
Dave Hughes banging on about huge amounts of corruption in Australian politics is a massive exaggeration. All countries have some corruption, including Australia, but we are considered to have one of the least amounts of corruption anywhere in the world. The whole "corruption" pivot is a smokescreen for the main reason he is mad: Labor changing the CGT benefits.
This video of Dolly Parton covering Stairway to Heaven is going around. Here's a higher quality version for you to enjoy. RIP to the Queen of Country and an absolute angel on Earth.
Imagine thinking the leader of a political party who received a free plane from the richest person in Australia and complained about minimum wage increases for Australian workers is on the side of the Aussie battler.
Dave Hughes is now into the stage of if you don't agree with him, you're clearly being paid by the Labor Party. This is rich coming from a guy who posted a photo of himself grinning with Angus Taylor.
He's about to go full cooker. I await the sovereign citizen posts.
Never forget that RFK Jr. testified in his divorce proceedings that he couldn’t afford alimony because he was so brain damaged he couldn’t hold a job.
Anyway, now he’s the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
To me, its not even about Mitch McConnell anymore.
We have a real problem when a Senator can just disappear for six weeks with only the vaguest of explanations & the whole institution just kinda shrugs it off.
Every other job in America would fire you for this.
