Public schools accept all children.
No questions asked.
Private schools select their children.
That’s why they are private.
Public tax dollars should support ONLY public schools.
Private money should pay for private schools.
Any questions?

The not-so-arcane Texas Fact of the Day:
It was 187 years ago today, on Feb. 23, 1836, that the advance guard of Santa Anna’s Army of Operations reached Béxar (San Antonio). In The Alamo, William Travis and Jim Bowie had not expected the Mexican troops to arrive until the middle of March. Santa Anna sent forth an emissary to demand the surrender of The Alamo "at discretion," i.e. without any agreement regarding how the defenders of The Alamo would be treated were they to surrender.
William Travis answered with a cannon shot.

@CajunMSTeacher My sister is a former Principal and sends a message out like this to her friends and former colleagues who are still teachers, at the beginning of each school year. You need and are entitled to that time-aww from school work, when you are home ☺️
Apparently I upset some people with my post about not bringing work home. I’m sorry, but this ongoing acceptance by teachers that we’re supposed to work 60+ hours a week because we love our jobs is why we’re in the position we’re in. Stop letting it be acceptable. Force change.
@OfficialAlamo I think I always knew the story of the Alamo. My daddy was a proud Texan and made sure we all knew our history. We went on Sunday drives all the time to Texas history spots (Alamo, Goliad, Fannin, etc.). My first trip was probably in the womb.
Tonight we told my 9 year old son that he has autism. After wrestling with how to discuss it, we decided to couch it in terms of him having a superpower. In other words, we told him the truth.
Ruby Bridges is only 66 years old. Was the first Black student to integrate an elementary school in the South. Another reminder that this history was not long ago at all.
