Whether you're exploring a future in the skilled trades, considering a career in manufacturing, or simply looking to gain hands-on welding experience, this course provides a strong foundation in the welding industry. Students will learn welding and cutting operations, fabrication techniques, blueprint reading, welding symbols, quality control practices, and shop safety while gaining experience with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and oxy-fuel cutting processes.
Participants will also have the opportunity to complete AWS qualification testing for the Certified Welder (CW) credential, helping them take the next step toward a rewarding career in the trades.
Ideal for beginners, career explorers, and hobbyists alike, this program offers valuable skills that can open doors to future opportunities.

Penta Career Center had a "ball" at our STEAM Night at the Toledo Mud Hens game on May 8! ⚾🔬
Our students and staff presented many engaging and fun Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math activities for fans to enjoy throughout the game. From Raspberry Pi video games to painting with insects, STEAM Night was a huge success.
Plus, Iris Hosey (Lake) from our Medical Technologies Academy got to throw out the first pitch and our Public Safety Honor Guard participated in the national anthem presentation.

This year, Anthony and Samara Covarrubias from Brett’s Towing in Wauseon graciously provided our students with a wrecked vehicle to use for valuable collision repair training opportunities. Throughout the school year, students gained real-world experience disassembling and reassembling body panels, practicing proper panel alignment, and using the frame rack in our lab to measure and repair major damage.

Since joining Penta in 2014, Brenda has helped prepare students for meaningful careers through her work as both the high school Dental Assistant instructor and Adult Education Dental Assisting instructor. Our morning class graduates include Erin Harte (Perrysburg), Yuri Matthews (Perrysburg), and Joey Caughorn (Genoa). Erin will attend Miami University, while Yuri and Joey will continue their education at Bowling Green State University.
Our afternoon class graduates include Roya Rahimi (Anthony Wayne), Molly Boblitt (Bowling Green), Jade Thornton (Eastwood), Samantha Dutridge (Perrysburg), Meghan Donnelly (Anthony Wayne), Isabella Conrad (Perrysburg), and Lauren Frobose (Eastwood). All will be attending Bowling Green State University. Roya Rahimi was also recognized as the 2026 Outstanding Student for Teaching Professions.

Representing her plans to join the Air Force National Guard, Laura used airbrushing techniques and layered paint effects to create an awesome scene full of detail and personal meaning. The final result showcases not only her artistic talent, but also the passion and vision behind her work.

Penta’s Drug Free Club seniors enjoyed a day at the ballpark on May 6 as they cheered on the Toledo Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field! ⚾ Students celebrated the end of their senior year with a fun afternoon of baseball, alongside staff chaperones Tricia Hornyak, admissions representative, and Jenny Northrup, secretary. Great memories and a great day at the game! 😊
Our Horticulture students are helping the community bloom! 🌿 On May 6, students planted eight large container gardens for the Wood County Agriculture Society, which will be showcased at the Wood County Fair this summer. Penta Career Center’s Early Learning Center celebrated a special milestone on May 6 as our preschoolers took the stage for graduation! Organized by our dedicated Early Childhood Education students under the supervision of Ms. Perez and Mrs. Zak, the event showcased the creativity, confidence, and growth of our young learners.
