ICE arrested Alina Rosales Aguirreurreta, daughter of historic Cuban general Ulises Rosales del Toro, in Florida.

🔎Aguirreurreta entered the country in 2023 on a tourist visa, which was valid through May 20, 2024, and she did not obtain permission to stay in the country.

She’s charged as a nonimmigrant overstay, and awaits a hearing before an immigration judge. ICE will disclose more information if it becomes publicly available.

El Departamento de Estado calificó de “señales de humo superficiales” las 176 medidas económicas anunciadas por el régimen cubano y afirmó que llegan con años de retraso.

En declaraciones a la AFP, un portavoz de la diplomacia estadounidense aseguró que se trata de una estrategia habitual de La Habana para aparentar apertura y luego revertir los cambios cuando percibe amenazado su control político.

Washington insistió en que Cuba necesita “reformas económicas y políticas mucho más sustanciales” que permitan atraer inversiones y ofrezcan a los cubanos “la libertad, la dignidad y las oportunidades que merece”.

Son los mismos que presentaban al “tuerto” Castro como el hombre fuerte capaz de controlar la Isla y garantizar cambios graduales. La historia demostró que todo era una ilusión.
