It is wonderful to see Peponi coming back to life after the holidays. I hope you have all had a good break—time to rest, recharge, and perhaps even do something new or adventurous.

First, I would like to congratulate everyone who sat public examinations last term. Many of the results were outstanding and are a real credit to your hard work. For some, particularly at AS, there will, as always, be lessons to reflect on. Take this new year as a chance to learn from those experiences and approach the months ahead with fresh energy and determination.

To our past Upper VI, good luck as you head off to university. Embrace every opportunity that comes your way and enjoy the adventure that lies ahead.
This week brings a fresh start for many of you. On Saturday, we will welcome our new Shell, beginning their Peponi journey, and on Monday our Lower VI will join us as they step into an exciting Sixth Form chapter.

A new year is full of possibilities: to try new things, to discover what you are capable of, and to support each other along the way. I am very much looking forward to seeing you all make the most of it.

We are immensely proud of our Head Boy, Shlok, and fellow pupil, Prinay, for being selected to represent Team Kenya in the U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.

The qualifiers will take place in Nigeria from 26th March to 7th April 2025, and we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way.

Ash Wednesday

 “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return“

Wednesday, 5th March marked the beginning of the Christian period of Lent.  Ash Wednesday begins the period of repentance and reflection before Easter. The ashes on the forehead symbolize mortality and sin, reminding Christians of their need for God’s grace.

This was our chapel’s first Eucharist celebration since its inauguration three years ago.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting Year 7 pupils from The Banda School for an exciting Science, Mathematics, Art, Recreation, and Teambuilding (SMART) Day! From creative challenges to hands-on experiments and teamwork activities, it was a day full of learning, fun, and new friendships.

Our Wellness Assembly focused on the power of looking out for one another and being our brother’s keeper. Through inspiring speeches, impactful stories, and a thoughtful panel discussion, we explored the importance of nurturing healthy friendships, resolving conflicts, and supporting each other with kindness.

The assembly began with a powerful speech from our head of the Wellness Ministry(Ruchi), reminding us to be mindful of our friends’ mental and emotional well-being. The morning concluded with a lively panel discussion, offering practical advice on building meaningful connections, recognising unhealthy friendships, and communicating with kindness—especially in the digital world.

Congratulations to the U19 Boys' and Girls' hockey teams for finishing 1st and 2nd respectively in the annual Peponi 8 a-side hockey tournament. Harsh(UVI) scooped the most outstanding goalkeeper award this year.

Peponi Pupils Lead Kenya to Victory! 🇰🇪🏆

We are immensely proud of Reyan and Vihaan, who represented Kenya at the East Africa Zonals 2025 Tennis Tournament!

Reyan (U-16 Captain) led Team Kenya to an overall championship victory, showcasing outstanding leadership and skill.

Vihaan (U-14) displayed incredible talent, winning the doubles title and helping Kenya secure the top spot.

Both boys have demonstrated remarkable commitment to balancing sport and academics, a true reflection of the Peponi spirit!

The much-anticipated Hog Charge 2025, has once again proven to be a spectacular showcase of teamwork, endurance, and community spirit. This year’s edition raised an impressive KES 7,647,920, breaking records and solidifying the event as a cornerstone of environmental and educational initiatives.

This year’s event was monumental, with an impressive 199 teams of four participants each, making it the largest turnout in the history of the competition. It was inspiring to see young people embrace the challenges, pedalling not only for victory but for a greater purpose.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, sponsors, organisers, and volunteers who made this year’s Hog Charge such an overwhelming success. The enthusiasm and generosity demonstrated by everyone involved are a testament to the power of collective effort.

As the dust settles on this year’s event, we look forward to Hog Charge 2026 with even greater excitement and determination to make a difference. Let us continue championing the cause of conservation while inspiring the next generation to take an active role in protecting our planet.

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 ��𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬

Transitioning into Senior School is an experience filled with a range of emotions—happiness, excitement, anxiety, and sometimes even a hint of confusion. The Mentorship and Buddy programmes have given our Shell pupils a gentle introduction to Senior School life and helped ease their transition.

The Shell pupils are paired with Upper VI mentors who volunteer to guide them through their journey. Last term, they connected during an outdoor retreat featuring thrilling activities such as boat races, zip-lining, archery, and cave exploration. Since then, they have met in group and one-on-one sessions every fortnight. During these meetings, the mentors share personal insights into navigating the complexities of Senior School, offering guidance on managing academic workloads, adapting to change, and coping with social pressures.

At the same time, Shell pupils have also benefited from spending time with their Lower V buddies in group sessions every two weeks. These buddies provide emotional support and create a sense of camaraderie by sharing experiences and understanding one another’s challenges. In addition to offering guidance, they enjoy team-building games and discussions, bringing moments of fun and laughter that have helped strengthen their bonds.

Through both the Mentorship and Buddy programmes, the pupils have formed lasting connections and gained valuable insights to carry with them through life. These initiatives have not only supported their academic and personal development but have also nurtured a school culture rooted in care, empathy, and mutual support.

We are delighted to congratulate Shashwat Harish (Ch, LVI), who has returned to school after being awarded Best Performer in the Masterclass Invitational Golf Tournament at the Windsor Golf and Country Club.

He delivered rounds of 70, 70, and 66 on the final day, finishing first in the tournament with a remarkable 23-stroke lead over second place.
