@zinzodin@danylanzhou the books not showing any signs of any type of colonialism does actually mean it isn’t colonialism😯! take a minute and wrap your head around it😊
@zinzodin@danylanzhou See i already asked you to elaborate about what type of settlement dany installed for these 10s of thousands of people. I also asked you to show text evidence of her practicing any type of colonisation and you said I don’t know sooo
@zinzodin@danylanzhou the Orange River Colony, the Cape Colony, and Natal. the region didn’t sever its ties with the British until after 59 years. Like i said colonialism is inherently long-term
@zinzodin@danylanzhou The 33 days refers to the period between the British initial “victory” and The Boers uprising against them it was officially turned into a colony after two years when the British forced the people to surrender and it stayed a colony for 8 years after that they were merged with-
@zinzodin@danylanzhou Not to mention colonialism is INHERENTLY a long-term practice. dany using military power take over a city is conquest not colonialism both these terms share the use of power to take control of a territory by force but they’re not interchangeable
@zinzodin@danylanzhou You know why that is🤨? Because it isn’t colonisation. You lack the understanding of the differences between conquest and colonialism. If what dany did was colonialism there must be distinct signs of it you can’t colonise a nation without actually practicing a type of colonialism
@zinzodin@danylanzhou When I pointed out that you had no idea what colonial settlers are you deflected do they live in settler colony or exploitation colony? What purpose do they serve there? Settlers in a colonial frame don’t just move to other places for fun
@zinzodin@danylanzhou do you though? You use an umbrella definition and think it’s enough to categorise colonialism elaborate and tell us what type of colonialism did dany practise in Meereen? European? Roman? Was it a settler colony or an exploratory? You said she brought settlers in yet-
@zinzodin@danylanzhou by the colonial settlers you claim to be “people who move to a new place” do you understand what you’re doing when you undermine the evil shit these people do for the sake of a book argument? Genuinely read books and essays this isn’t something to be ignorant about
@zinzodin@danylanzhou Not colonisation because i actually understand what it means! I sincerely do not care what you think about the books but for the love of god do not say shit that undermines real atrocities people suffer from an entire population of people is getting wiped out -
@zinzodin@danylanzhou You should pick up a damn book. No settlers in a colony aren’t people who just “move to a new place” this is an ignorant statement. you throw around words you don’t understand then pull up a half-assed google definition and think you did something what are you 5?
@mxfrlll11@redoorlemontree We rarely ever get true female centric media and when we do we have to deal with male centred, misogynists (and the people seeking to self insert) demanding male involvement. They truly don’t gaf about women nor view them as compelling individuals on their own.
@asshaii totally! One of the best things about taylor is that she has a diverse discography that appeals to various audiences not every album is going to cater to the same group of people and that’s normal
@asshaii The album was pop TS to the T. The lyrics were witty and catchy the production was really good, overall a solid body of work and it was refreshing after the last album run but people are gonna hate whatever she puts out simply because her name is on it
