@Dt33345@tre_zen@ProtoCastro33@crazykhiro201@The_Gif_Master_ The spirit of the law is the prevent cheap goals. Explain how being ahead by a toenail helped the player get a cheap goal? Implement Wenger’s law so that offside occurs only when your whole body is front. Thats what the rule was designed for
@tre_zen@Dt33345@ProtoCastro33@crazykhiro201@The_Gif_Master_ Difference is not the same. The criticism is that being a toenail ahead offers no benefit, so why outlaw it. The spirit of the rule is to prevent easy and cheap goals. If you apply Wenger’s law, it abides by the spirit of the law. Offside only if your whole body is in front
@tre_zen@Dt33345@ProtoCastro33@crazykhiro201@The_Gif_Master_ It changes it because offside wouldn’t occur if you’re a toenail in front of the LAST DEFENDER. It would occur only if your whole body is front. When your toenail is front, you get no benefit. If your whole body is in front, you get benefit. That’s the difference
@tre_zen@Dt33345@ProtoCastro33@crazykhiro201@The_Gif_Master_ Wenger’s Law wouldn’t create more inconsistency: “ Wenger's Law" … states that an attacker is only offside if their entire body is ahead of the last defender, meaning there must be clear, visible space (daylight) between them”
@JohnSmithdmrm@TaylorTwellman The rule was created to prevent the offense from getting cheap goals. Having your toe in front of the defender 20 feet away is not consistent with the rule’s intent
