Getting my first fanart has been…wow. ❤️❤️ I’m still so in denial that my book is finally out there and being enjoyed, but here’s some wonderful pieces! cred: arttunknown on insta!
I just dropped my ARCs not even two hours ago and I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support I’m receiving. Thank you so much and I hope y’all have fun!!
I’m in the middle of copy edits and decided to assign my ISBNs to give to the cover artist. I set the publishing date to today. Did I just publish my first book?? 🤔
@RebeccaFKenney1 Aside from ethics, all AI art looks the same. If you want a reader to stop scrolling, commission an artist with a beautiful and unique style. I commissioned these and 😍😍
Idk y’all, I’m a heartless monster in a lot of ways, but killing off my characters for fun is not one of them.
Now, making my readers put holes in their drywall because I’ve broken their hearts is another matter… 😏
Idk where this idea that fantasy authors love killing off characters came from.
I’ve cried every time I’ve killed a character. Even my villains. Even the ones I hated. Because I love them ALL enough to make their deaths meaningful. 🧵
“How can you love your characters if you hate some of them??”
Hate and love are just two sides of the same blade. I have written some DESPICABLE villains, but each one is well-rounded with interesting perspectives that play vital roles in my story.
It’s why I DON’T “write my enemies as characters so I can kill them off.” If I spent the mental energy and emotional labor to create a character, I love them. Why would I taint beautiful process with someone I hate?
For all 5 of you who read my tweets, I feel comfortable enough confessing how much of a workaholic self-publishing has made me.
I’ve been idle for a few days waiting for another round of edits and I feel like peeling off my skin. Send good vibes pls ❤️
Hate that this needs to be said, but #NoAIHere
I’m an author, not a programmer. I took on this mantle to soothe my soul, not make a quick buck.
