"There is no known threat to public safety."? I can think of a few... mid-day gun play on a Main Street? Rampant, unchecked drug abuse and dealing in plain view? Political inaction and tolerance of neighbourhood ruining behaviours? Police discouraged from any enforcement action?

At approximately 1:30 pm, officers were in the area of Bank and Gilmour Streets when they heard gunshots.

Officers observed males running from the scene and engaged in a foot pursuit. One male suspect is now in custody. Two firearms were recovered.

One male was located with a non-life-threatening injury and transported to hospital.

The police investigation continues.

All roads have been re-opened.

There is no known threat to public safety.

Vers 13 h 30, des agents étaient dans le secteur des rues Bank et Gilmour lorsqu'ils entendirent des coups de feu.

Les agents virent des hommes s'enfuir de la scène et se lançèrent à leur poursuite, à pied. L'un des suspects est actuellement détenu. Deux armes à feu ont été récupérées.

Un homme a été localisé avec une blessure ne mettant pas sa vie en péril et il fut transporté à l'hôpital.

L'enquête de la police se poursuit.

Toutes les routes sont ré-ouvertes.

Il n'y a pas de menace connue pour la sécurité du public.

So, I'm waiting at the light. A police car pulls up beside me. The light changes, a car runs the red light, and two cars are blocking the intersection. I think, oh here we go! These people are about to get ticketed! But no, the cop just goes around and DRIVES UP THE BIKE LANE!

Dundonald Park is a disgrace - open drug use and drunken louts have made it inhospitable to anyone but the louts - dreaming of an urban utopia is no stand-in for enforcing some modicum of respectful use - “everyone” should include those who might want to take their kids there

I was troubled to learn that shots were fired outside the McNabb vaccine supply distribution centre. We’re lucky there were no injuries - but I’m thinking about our staff members who were present and playing a key role vaccinating our residents. OPS now on site & investigating.
