@BeatTheCult I can't know, but I can make a balanced judgement on what is the most probable course of events, logically. The concept of a divine creator only works if u deny @ least some scientific rules. An alternative is changing the definition of God

@alexxguss It really is, and i far prefer dealing with concepts linguistically than I do mathematically, so I really need to gee myself up to be motivated to study it. It'll make me a better philosopher by doing so, I'm sure, it's just not an aspect that comes naturally to me

@alexxguss Formal logic is something I really struggle with, having never studied it specifically, just snippets as they crop up. I have two books on my shelf, leering at me mockingly, but I'm plodding through my MA material and will have to read them afterwards.

Reminds me of my great uncle who kept an unexploded ww1 hand grenade in his house that his dad brought home. My mam and her sisters played with it as kids. When he died my aunty put it in her handbag and took it to the local police station.
