i downloaded an app days back for one reason
to collect $10 😂
somehow, that turned into me spending way more time inside the app than i expected
that's literally how i found @kastro_xyz
i saw @netrovertHQ's giveaway, entered, won $10 and got the money today
once it landed, i could've just said thanks and closed the app
but obviously i started clicking around 😂
i wanted to see what else was actually there
at first, Kastro looked pretty straightforward to me
you can send money, request money, chat and keep your money there
basically, i thought okay, another wallet/payment app
then i opened the investment section
and that's where things got interesting
because i wasn't expecting to see this much outside of crypto
there are crypto assets like $BTC , $ETH , $HNT, $JUP , $JTO , $PYTH , $RAY , $RENDER and others
but then there's a whole section of tokenized assets
$NVDA
$MSFTx
$AAPL
$AMZNx
$TSLAx
$META and many more...
ETFs like the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100 and total US market
there’s also exposure to gold and silver
so you're basically seeing traditional assets represented through tokens alongside the crypto side
i even tried going through the process of buying some of them because i wanted to understand exactly how it worked
and Kastro describes them as tokenized shares that track the price of real shares held 1:1 by the issuer
then i found feature called "Pots"
in there you can put money aside for different goals, either by yourself or with friends
and you can keep some of it in dollars and withdraw whenever you want
the more i clicked around, the less it felt like i was looking at just a wallet
payments
saving
investing
messaging
all sitting inside the same app
i even asked them if @kastro_xyz was global or restricted to certain countries
they told me it's global, but they're giving the African market an opportunity to have it first
if you want to buy with your local currency, it's currently NGN, KES and ZAR, with more currencies coming soon
you can also send and receive $USDC & $USD on $SOL through @kastro_xyz
i'm still exploring it, so i'm not here to pretend i've figured the whole thing out
it's just funny how i downloaded the app because i wanted to collect $10 from a giveaway and ended up actually getting curious about the product itself
sometimes you really do find interesting things by accident.
