Meet Salim Shaban, aka Ambassador! He was one of the guides who helped @NoJoryous summit Mount Kilimanjaro! At the end of the trek, Ambassador couldn’t wait to get home to his kids, but said he needed gifts for them. Derek was honoured to gift them the @perfstickbook! ❤️🪵

David gets his sticks from Alberta, “where I’m always on the hunt for the perfect stick!” Upon hearing this, Derek ran to his car, grabbed a copy of @perfstickbook, and traded book for stick. They both left this meeting with a new cherished possession, the perfect stick! ❤️🪵

Meet David Dittrich. Upon finishing a hike up Knox Mountain in Kelowna, @nojoryous saw David headed up with a walking stick in both hands, with two tied to his back. “Nice sticks!” Derek said. “Do you sell them?” “No,” David said, “I give them away to people who say nice sticks!”

David fell off a horse years ago, crushing numerous vertebrae in his spin. He fought his way back to being able to walk and he hikes Knox regularly in celebration of his ability to do so. He’s given way more than 150 walking sticks to strangers!

How great of an illustrator is @toyebot?! See for yourself! He took @NoJoryous’ original vanilla storyboard sketch for the tightrope walk scene and developed it into an incredibly detailed spread (pages 13 & 14) in @perfstickbook! ✍️🔥🙌
